Police in Newark chased down and apprehended three suspects that were involved in a brazen afternoon attempted robbery of a person who was reported as an off-duty police officer in the city's North Ward.
The incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. in the area of Bloomfield Ave. and Lake St. when one of the suspects who was wearing what appeared to be a "gorilla mask", attempted to rob the victim of personal possessions.
Police patrolling the area, chased the suspects, nabbing all three men a short time later.
There were no injuries reported.
