Authorities in Jersey City are searching for a suspect in connection with an overnight shooting that occurred early Saturday morning.
Police said the incident took place just before 12:30 a.m. in the area of 475 West Side Avenue, where multiple rounds of gunfire were reported.
Responding officers found evidence at the scene confirming that a shooting had occurred, but no victims were located.
Officers canvassed the neighborhood and alerted area hospitals to be on the lookout for potential walk-in gunshot victims.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, and no arrests have been made. 
The investigation remains ongoing.
