Authorities are investigating a carjacking that happened in Newark's Ironbound section early Saturday morning.
Police were called to the 50's block of Prospect Street for a report of an armed carjacking in progress.
Officers arrived at the scene and were told by the victim that two black male suspects were armed with a weapon when they took his green Acura MDX shortly before officers arrived.
The vehicle has a NJ license plate number "R39-HFM".
The suspects fled the scene southbound on Prospects Street according to reports.
It is not clear if the vehicle was ever found.
