Newark East Ward Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the Ironbound section of the city on Friday evening.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 113 Monroe Street to investigate reports of a robbery in progress that occurred at approximately 6 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene began to check surveillance cameras from nearby restaurants and businesses in the area after a male victim reported that a suspect approached, demanded, then took personal possessions before fleeing from the scene.
The suspect is believed to have committed another robbery on Wednesday evening in the Ironbound section according to preliminary reports.
There were no physical injuries reported and the suspect remains at-large.
