Police in Rahway are investigating a serious overnight crash that left at least one person injured on a busy roadway in the city.
The collision occurred around 12:15 a.m. near the intersection of Route 1 and East Grand Avenue and involved a motorcycle and another vehicle.
Emergency responders, including police officers and firefighters, arrived on scene and immediately shut down the area to secure the crash site and assist the injured.
Authorities have confirmed that at least one person sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
The extent of those injuries and the circumstances leading up to the crash have not yet been released.
The roadway remained closed for a period of time overnight while crews worked the scene and investigators gathered evidence.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, and additional information is expected to be released by the Rahway Police Department as it becomes available.
