Police Investigate Home Invasion Robbery in New Brunswick

New Brunswick

The New Brunswick Police Department is investigating a home invasion reported to have occurred on Friday night.

Police said it occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. within a residence located on Hartwell Street, between Central Avenue and Hamilton Street.

In this incident, the victims, four 20-year-old males, New Brunswick residents, reported that five perpetrators entered the home through an unsecured door.

Police said once inside, the perpetrators displayed two firearms and removed several items of value from the victims.

The victims were not physically injured during this incident and the perpetrators fled the area on foot, police said.

The description of the perpetrators is limited at this time. However, the preliminary investigation suggests that at least one of the victims and one of the suspects were familiar with each other and the residence was targeted specifically because of the relationship.

The New Brunswick Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact Detective Elfi Martinez at 732-745-5217.
