An investigation is underway into a crash that left one person dead on the Garden State Parkway in Egg Harbor.
The crash happened at around 3:30 a.m. when police responded to the southbound side of the highway near mile marker 57 for a vehicle that struck a tree, trapping at least one occupant inside the vehicle.
First responders arrived a short time later where they pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim and the cause of the crash has not been real eased at this time.
