Police Investigate Fatal Maple Shade Shooting

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Maple Shade Police Chief Gary C. Gubbei announced that at 8:25 a.m. today a call was made to 911 with a report of an active shooter outside of a commercial property in the 100 block of East King's Highway in Maple Shade.

Law enforcement personnel from Maple Shade, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office and other agencies immediately responded to find a single victim with multiple gunshot wounds. EMS attempted to save this individual, but the victim died at the scene as a result of the shooting.

The area where the shooting occurred was immediately secured. It is believed that the victim was the intended target of this shooting and that this was not a random incident.

The victim has been identified as Devon Young, 26, of Willingboro. An autopsy is being conducted this afternoon by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood.

No charges have been filed as of this time.

The investigation is being conducted by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, High-Tech Crimes Unit, Crime Scene Unit, and by detectives from the Maple Shade Police Department.
