Police Identify Victim of Haddon Twp. Hit-and-Run

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Haddon Township Police Department have identified the victim of a hit-and-run over last weekend.

Felemone Negrete-Ponce, 35, of Camden was riding a bike in the area of the Black Horse Pike and Pershing Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle Saturday at approximately 12:05 a.m.

He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle, Richard Bennett, 68, of Haddon Heights, arrived to the Haddon Heights Police Department at approximately 6 a.m. on Saturday and said he believed he had struck someone with his vehicle on the Black Horse Pike.

Bennett was charged by the Haddon Township Police Department with leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury and endangering an injured victim.

Bail was set and he posted bail.
