Police Find Woodbury Man Fatally Shot in the Head

A shooting that left a man dead in Woodbury had the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office investigating.

Police say on Saturday night at approximately 11:33 pm, Woodbury City Police officers were dispatched to 53B E. Centre Street, Woodbury, Gloucester County, New Jersey for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the body of a 32-year-old male with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

According to police, the victim, whose identity is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say there is no known threat to public safety and the incident is not believed to be random.

An autopsy conducted on today by The Gloucester County Medical Examiner who ruled the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death a Homicide.

Circumstances surrounding the homicide are currently under investigation by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and the Woodbury City Police Department.

Eyewitness statements indicate that the suspect fled on foot.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office believes there are additional witnesses who may provide crucial information in this investigation.
