Police Continue to Investigate Two Gunpoint Robberies in Maplewood

Police in Maplewood are continuing to search for a suspect who is wanted for gunpoint robberies in the township. 

According to police, both incidents occurred in the evening hours of November 28th, where they believe the same suspect is responsible. 

 

Authorities said at around 7 pm, police responded to a section of Elmwood Avenue -at the Irvington border- where a male victim was approached by the armed suspect who demanded his money at gunpoint. 

 

Police say the suspect took the victim’s wallet then fled towards Irvington. 

 

In the other incident, police said at approximately 9 pm, a male entering the vestibule of his apartment building on Franklin Terrace when he was approached by a suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s possessions. 

 

According to police, the suspect took cash from the victim then fled westbound on Parker Avenue. 

Police say there were no injuries in either armed robbery.
