A police officer in Paterson was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital after his vehicle crashed on a street in the city overnight.
According to preliminary reports, emergency responders were called to the teens block of Park Avenue to investigate reports of a car crash with injuries.
Rescue crews arrived and found an injured police officer in his vehicle after it first collided with a private car then caused the police cruiser to come to rest on a building at that location.
According to reports, the officer was headed to assist another officer when he somehow lost control of the car and crashed at that location.
Officials say the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but there were no reported injuries to civilians.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
