Police Arrest Woman at Newark Cafe on Illegal Alcohol Sale Charges

Authorities announced the arrest of Tereza Evora, 39, of Newark, for operating an illegal alcohol establishment yesterday.

According to officials, police responded to Café Central, located at 92 Wilson Avenue, at approximately 2:10 p.m. yesterday to investigate complaints of illegal sale of alcohol and gambling machines at that establishment.

Upon entering the establishment, officers observed patrons consuming beers from plastic cups, wine from glasses and four Keno machine for customer use.

Additionally, officers observed an assortment of alcohol in condiment bottles inside the establishment, where Tereza Evora was waiting on patrons.

Police arrested Evora and charged her with Maintaining an Unlicensed Liquor Establishment, Illegal Sale of Alcohol,

Unlawful Possession of Alcohol and Unlawful Possession of a Gambling Device.

These charges are merely accusations. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
