Police in Newark's West Ward took one person under arrest and recovered a weapon used in a stabbing incident that occurred at a location overnight.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 40's block of St. Pauls Avenue to investigate reports of a stabbing in progress.
Units arrived at the scene to find the unidentified person suffering a stab at that location according to police.
The victim was transported to University Hospital where doctors treated non-fatal injuries.
Police are looking into if the incident is an incident of domestic violence. The motive for the attack remains under investigation.
