Newark Police officers took and man into custody after locating him with an imitation gun in a section of the city's North Ward Wednesday morning.
Police received calls reporting an armed robbery in progress that occurred on Garside Street before 5:15 a.m.
Officers arrived at the scene found the victim who stated that a male suspect approached armed with a weapon and demanded personal possessions.
Police located the suspects in the area of Bloomfield and Clifton avenues and after an investigation and positive ID, they placed the suspect under arrests and confiscated the weapon.
There were no physical injuries reported.
