Police in newark took a suspect into custody after an attempted burglary that occurred in the city's North Ward overnight.
The incident was reported in the 40's block of Chester Avenue at around midnight when the suspects attempted to break into a residence in or around the vicinity of 43 Chester Avenue according to preliminary reports.
A resident reportedly cornered the suspect and held him until police arrived at the scene.
The suspect attempted one last dash to escape, but police were able to place him in custody swiftly.
The incident remains under investigation.
