Police Arrest Driver for DWI After Car Strikes House in Plainfield

Police in Plainfield arrested a man for DWI after the vehicle that he was occupied, stemmed into a house in the city Friday evening.

According to Plainfield authorities, at approximately 5:00pm, Police, Fire, and EMS responded to 1210 Plainfield Avenue regarding a motor vehicle crash.

Arriving units located a van occupied by two adult males was traveling north on Plainfield Avenue when the driver lost control.

The van came to rest on its side on the front lawn of 1210 and struck the house authorities said. The house did not sustain significant damage.

Authorities said a 24-year-old male driver with a New York address was not injured. Police charged the with DWI, Reckless Driving, and Suspended License.

The 28-year-old male passenger, a Plainfield resident, was taken to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.
