One person was taken into custody after a late night armed robbery that happened in the city.
Police responded to reports of an armed robbery in progress that occurred in the 400 block of Monroe Street shortly before 11:30 p.m.
Units arriving to the scene located the victim who reported to them that a male suspect approached a short time before officers arrived armed with a knife and demanded personal possessions.
The victim reportedly handed over a wallet, cell phone, and other items to the suspect before he fled the scene.
Heavy police presence canvassed the area for the light complexion black male suspect who was last seen wearing a dark leather jacket, a hoodie, and dark pants according to the victim.
Police apprehended the suspect several blocks where they confiscated the stolen items.
The suspect positively identified the suspect.
