Police Arrest 10 Adults Wanted for Outstanding Warrants in Newark

Authorities in Newark reported the arrest of 10 adults who were wanted for outstanding warrants.AdNewark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé stated the ten adults were:

-Brenda Velasquez, 46, of Kearney, was arrested on February 7, 2024, after a warrant was issued for her arrest on charges of aggravated assault and weapon possession following a January 15, 2024, altercation with a woman in Newark.

-Tanieka L. Sanchez, 27, of Newark, was arrested on February 20, 2024, as she was wanted on charges of aggravated assault and weapon possession in connection with an incident with a man she knows in Newark on February 7, 2024.

-Derrick Pressley, 26, of Hoboken, was arrested on February 21, 2024, in connection with an outstanding warrant out of Edison. He was also wanted for terroristic threats, simple assault, and harassment.

-Molly Gbamokollie, 34, of Newark, was arrested on February 21, 2024, after a warrant was issued for his arrest following threats made to a woman he knows. He faces charges of terroristic threats and criminal mischief.

-Quasheim A. Williams, 31, was arrested on February 21, 2024, for an outstanding warrant out of West Orange. He was also wanted for aggravated assault, weapon possession, criminal mischief, and conspiracy.

-Britannia T. Bryan, 27, of East Orange, was arrested on February 21, 2024, after a warrant was issued for her arrest in connection with threats made to a man she knows. She faces a charge of terroristic threats.

-Michael Bunin, 33, of Newark, was arrested on February 21, 2024, as he was wanted on charges of burglary, credit card theft, and credit card fraud. He also faces a charge of resisting arrest.Ad-Quadir Marshall, 35, of Newark, was arrested for two outstanding warrants out of Cranbury and one outstanding warrant out of Irvington.

-Ahmed Burks, 26, of Newark 26, was arrested on February 21, 2024, after a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection with possession of a handgun on November 27, 2023. He faces charges of weapon possession, possession of prohibited weapons (large capacity magazine), and receiving a stolen vehicle.

-Jaquan K. Lane, 29, of Newark, was arrested on February 22, 2024, after a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection with CDS distribution. He faces charges of possession of CDS, distribution of CDS, and Distribution of CDS within 1,000 feet of a school.

Officials say these charges are merely accusations, and this suspect(s) is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
