Police Apprehend Three Salem Juveniles Charged in Connection with Vehicle Theft

A trio of juveniles have been charged in connection with a theft of a vehicle that happened Sunday evening outside a Pennsville restaurant.

According to police, on Jan. 14th at approximately 6:15 pm officers were dispatched to Chobans Restaurant on South Broadway for a theft complaint.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who told them that three juveniles were observed entering his vehicle - a 2018 Chevrolet SUV - remove cellular phones from the vehicle and fled the area on bicycles.

Before the victim could contact the police the three subjects returned back to the establishment and one of them entered the vehicle, which was running in the parking lot. Once inside the vehicle, the juveniles attempted to drive the vehicle but backed into another parked vehicle in the lot.

The juveniles subsequently fled on foot and were apprehended by officers.

It was determined that the accused were all juveniles from Salem.

Police apprehended and charged a 13-year-old male juvenile with theft, a 15-year-old female juvenile with burglary and

A 16-year-old female juvenile with hindering apprehension.

According to police, all three juveniles were released to their guardians pending court.
