Police in Newark recovered a weapon from a suspect who led them on a foot pursuit in a city neighborhood Wednesday morning.
According to police, residents in the teens block of Nairn Place contacted authorities after they observed a suspicious person in the neighborhood at around 10:45 a.m.
Police arrived and spotted the suspect then attempt to further investigate but the suspect fled on foot according to reports.
Officers managed to apprehend the suspect a short distance away without further incident.
Reports say they charged the suspect with weapons possession after they confiscated a gun.
There were no injuries reported.
