Pleasantville Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Two Children

A Pleasantville man is charged with multiple counts in connection with the sexual assaults of two children, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Special Victim’s Unit and Egg Harbor Township Police arrested Sherron Scott, 32, of Pleasantville, Friday for sexually assaulting two minor children.

Authorities charged Scott with three Counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault, two Counts of Sexual Assault and two Counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit arrested Scott after a several month long investigation.

The State has moved to detain Scott. A detention hearing is scheduled for Jan. 31st, before Judge Benjamin Podolonick.

These charges are merely an accusation and not proof of guilt. In all criminal cases, a charged defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
