Pleasant Saturday Weather Greets Newark Ahead of Mother's Day

Newark and North Jersey residents are enjoying a dry start with some cloud cover this early Saturday morning, a welcome change after a dreary and rainy Friday.AdAs locals step out the door at 4:15 a.m. on the eve of Mother's Day, they can look forward to a notably milder day with no significant precipitation on the horizon, according to NWS radars. 

Light rain is possible in parts of Sussex County, but a washout is definitely not expected.

The National Weather Service is forecasting that today will be mostly sunny, with a high nearing 62 degrees.

A north wind at 5 to 9 mph is expected to shift southeast in the afternoon, maintaining pleasant conditions throughout the day.

However, NWS meteorologists say the weather might take a slight turn tonight, with a 30 percent chance of showers after 2 a.m. and clouds increasing as temperatures dip to around 48 degrees.AdAs you enjoy this mild Saturday, don't forget to pick up a special gift for mom in preparation for Sunday's Mother's Day celebrations.
