Plainfield Police Arrest Three; Seize Weapons, Approximately $50K of Heroin

Authorities announced the arrest of three men, including an alleged G-Shine Bloods Gang member.

According to authorities, Plainfield Police Division Narcotics Unit arrested a G-Shine Bloods Gang member, Omar Perkins, 23, on Friday for gun possession and numerous drug offenses.

On the morning of the 20th, members of the Plainfield Police Division Narcotics Unit, NJ State Police TEAMS Unit, and South Plainfield Police Department executed a Superior Court Search Warrant at 1420 Astor Place, South Plainfield.

As a result of the search, Detective’s located a loaded Hi-Point nine millimeter handgun and a large quantity of heroin with an estimated street value of approximately $50,000.00.

Omar Perkins is currently being held on Bail at the Middlesex County Jail.Also on the morning of January 20th, members of the Plainfield Police Division Narcotics Unit arrested Calvin Cox, age 42 for gun possession and numerous drug offenses, and Jhimier Tyler Cox, age 20 for numerous drug offenses.

The Plainfield Police Division Narcotics Unit and the NJ State Police TEAMS Unit executed a Superior Court Search Warrant at 701 West 4th Street.

As a result of the search, Detective’s located a loaded nine millimeter handgun and a quantity of marijuana along with packaging material.

Both individuals are currently being held at the Union County Jail.
