Union County authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a Plainfield man Sunday morning.
According to officials, at approximately 10:49 a.m. on May 10, Plainfield Police Officers responded to Campbell Field in the 1300 block of East 3rd Street after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, identified as 39-year-old Tyquan Jones of Plainfield, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
