Plainfield Man Arrested for Burglaries in Middlesex, Somerset, Union Counties

Piscataway police announced the arrest of a 36-year-old Plainfield man in connection with a string of burglaries in Union, Middlesex, and Somerset.

Piscataway Township Police Department arrested Anthony D. Armstrong, pursuant to a joint burglary task force investigation that spanned Middlesex, Somerset and Union Counties.

As a result of the joint burglary task force investigation led by the Piscataway Township Police Department, Armstrong was charged with criminal violations including burglary and theft to numerous garden style apartments across the three Counties.

To date, the value of the property that has been verified to have been stolen by Armstrong is in excess of $35,000.

The Piscataway Township Police Department was assisted by the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office, Somerset County Prosecutor's Office, Union County Prosecutor's Office, Edison Township Police Department, Woodbridge Township Police Department, Middlesex Borough Police Department, Plainfield Police Department, North Plainfield Police Department, Clark Police Department and Scotch Plains Police Department.

The investigation remains active and additional charges against Armstrong for burglary and theft are pending.
