Firefighters in Plainfield are investigating a fire that damaged a house in the city on Wednesday morning.
According to preliminary reports, the early morning fire ignited inside a house located at 425 Orchard Place at approximately 3 a.m.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the two-story house according to reports.
Reports say firefighters stretched several lines and were able to bring the blaze under control in under a half-hour.
A search of the residence for trapped and/or injured occupants came back negative, according to fire officials. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but fire officials are looking into hoarding conditions present inside the home.
