The cause of a fire that ignited inside a home in Plainfield this afternoon remains under investigation,
Firefighters were called to the 1200 block of East 7th Street for report of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy fire and thick smoke coming from the house with all of the home's occupants escaping the blaze unharmed.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about an hour.
The American Red Cross Displaced about five residents.
