Piscataway Tragedy: Police Shoot Machete-Wielding Suspect; Four Found Dead in Home

Authorities are investigating a tragic incident in Piscataway on Monday in which four people, including a machete-wielding suspect shot by police, were found dead inside a township home, according to information obtained from a law enforcement source.

Police were dispatched to the residence after a 911 call was made from inside the home, the source said. 

When officers arrived, a suspect allegedly charged at them while armed with a machete. Officers attempted to deploy Tasers, but the devices were reportedly ineffective.
 

The suspect continued advancing toward officers, prompting police to fire their service weapons. 

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Inside the home, three additional individuals were discovered deceased, including two grandparents, according to the source. 

The identity and relationship of the fourth victim have not yet been confirmed, and investigators have not released further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident.
