Piscataway Man Fatally Shot in Irvington

Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Monday night in Irvington, leaving a Piscataway man dead.

 

According to Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Irvington Public Safety Director Tracy Bowers, officers responded to reports of gunfire and a man down shortly after 10:00 p.m. in the area of 100 Union Avenue.

 

When officers arrived, they discovered 42-year-old Anwar Jackson lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force is leading the investigation, which remains active and ongoing. 

 

As of now, no arrests have been made and no further details have been released.
