Piscataway Man Charged in Homicide

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Director Kenneth McCormick of the North Brunswick Police Department said today that authorities have charged a Piscataway man with fatally shooting a North Brunswick resident last week.

Jerome Davis, 40, of Piscataway, was charged with murder and burglary following an investigation into the May 14, 2017, fatal shooting of Patrick Olarerin, 57, of North Brunswick.

Davis, who has been in custody since May 14, 2017, was charged with the homicide on May 19, 2017.

Police charged Davis during an investigation conducted by Detective Seeta Jones of the North Brunswick Police Department and Detective David Abromaitis of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police began the investigation after they found the victim in his apartment at 5:15 a.m. on May 14, 2017, and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he died a short time later.

The investigation is active and is continuing.
