The Piscataway High School's (PHS) Donate Life Club (DLC) has been recognized nationally for its extraordinary efforts in a life-saving mission.Ice CreamAwarded the 2023 Excellence in Youth Education Award by Donate Life America, the DLC has been a beacon of hope and inspiration in the field of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

Under the guidance and leadership of Divakaran Manimaran, a senior at PHS and the president and founder of the DLC, these extraordinary students have taken on the noble task of educating their peers and the community.

They have tirelessly worked throughout the year, organizing events, creating social media campaigns, and distributing informative flyers. Their efforts have not only raised awareness but have also inspired many to register as organ and tissue donors.

In their pursuit, these young activists have confronted myths and misconceptions head-on, engaging in heartfelt discussions with students, families, and community members.

Their work is crucial, especially considering the staggering number of people in need of organ transplants. Currently, over 100,000 Americans, including nearly 4,000 from New Jersey, are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant.

The potential impact of organ and tissue donation is immense, with a single donor having the power to save up to 8 lives and enhance the lives of over 75 others.

The DLC's commitment and dedication to this cause demonstrate the power of youth in making a significant impact.
