Authorities in Newark are reporting non-life-threatening injuries for a juvenile suffering a stab wound in Newark's East Ward.
Police responded to reports of a fight at 238 Van Buren Street around 3:25 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found a 15-year-old male student suffering a stab injury after being cut with a knife during the physical altercation, according to preliminary reports.
The Essex County Sheriff's Office and Newark Police both worked the scene of the investigation while school security and administration continued to look into the circumstances behind the incident.
A former student reportedly attempted to rob the current male student which resulted in a stab wound to the victim’s neck.
Police reported no other injuries.
