Philadelphia Man Sentenced to Ten Years for Carjacking in Atlantic City

Atlantic City

The Atlantic City Prosecutors Office announced that on August 24, 2022, Kevin Wade, 61, of Philadelphia, was sentenced to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison after Wade previously pled guilty to first-degree carjacking.

According to officials, the charges stemmed from a carjacking Wade committed in April of 2021 in Atlantic City.

After forcing the car’s owner out of the car, Wade took police on a chase through Atlantic City and surrounding towns which ended when Wade lost control of the car and crashed.

Officials said that at his sentencing hearing, Wade requested that the judge reduce his sentence from 10 years to eight years. The court denied his request for a reduced sentence.

Wade was also ordered to pay restitution to the victim for the damage he caused to the car.
