Philadelphia Man Indicted for Smashing Woman in Head with Brick While She Walked on Atlantic City Boardwalk

Atlantic County authorities announced that Samuel Cooper, 43, of Philadelphia, was indicted on Thursday, March 23, for Attempted Murder after an investigation revealed that, in a random attack, he allegedly assaulted a Philadelphia woman with a brick tied in a t-shirt while she was walking on the Atlantic City Boardwalk in the area of Iowa Avenue on Friday, January 6.

According to officials, Cooper was indicted for first-degree Attempted Murder for purposely attempting to cause the death or seriously bodily injury resulting in the death of the female.

Officials say in addition; Cooper was also indicted for two counts of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Certain Person not to Possess a Weapon.

This investigation was conducted by the Atlantic City Police Department and is being prosecuted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
