Emergency responders rushed to the Walt Whitman Bridge Wednesday evening after a person reportedly climbed onto the bridge and jumped into the Delaware River.
According to preliminary information, the incident was reported shortly after 6 p.m., prompting an emergency response on both sides of the bridge.
The individual was later recovered on the New Jersey side, where emergency personnel immediately began performing CPR.
The incident caused traffic delays on the Walt Whitman Bridge and affected travel through portions of the surrounding region as emergency operations continued.
The condition of the individual has not been confirmed.
