Emergency responders rushed to the scene to assist a male out of the water after he jumped off a bridge early this morning in Toms River.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of the Thomas A. Mathis Bridge after they received reports of a person who jumped off the bridge just before 4:20 a.m.
Units arriving at the scene found the unidentified person floating in the water according to reports.
Emergency responders and rescue crews were able to get the person out of the water then hand them over to police.
The incident remains under investigation.
