Person Found Suffering Fatal Gunshot Wound Inside Car That Crashed into Building in Franklin Township

The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office are investgiating a double shooting that left at least one person dead in Franklin Township Saturday night.

According to preliminary reports, emergency responders rushed to the vicinity of 33 Foxwood Drive after they received reports of a car that struck a house at approximately 11:10 p.m.

Rescue crews arrived at the scene and found a severely damaged vehicle with an unidentified person suffering a bullet wound trapped inside the car according to reports.

Medical personnel pronounced the victim did at the scene while police contacted PSEG to shut down power to the house.

According to reports, a second person who was inside the vehicle managed to extricate then make his way to the hospital where officials say he also suffered a gunshot wound.

Police have not released the extent of injuries for the walk-in gunshot patient at this time.

Circumstances that involved the motive for the incident is in the early stages of the investigation.

No arrests have been made.
