There is a homicide investigation underway for the victim of a shooting found shot dead near a park in New Brunswick overnight.
Reports of shots fired that rang out near the intersection of Hale Street, and Throop Avenue sent police to the scene shortly before 10:30 p.m. to investigate.
According to reports, police arrived at the scene to find one person suffering gunshot wounds just outside the Feaster Park.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office were on the scene leading the investigation and attempting to find the motive behind the shooting.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
