The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is looking into the motive behind a shooting that left a male dead inside a Newark Central Ward Park earlier Sunday.
Officials said at approximately 7:35 a.m., police found the unidentified victim suffering bullet wounds on the 18th Avenue side of Nat Turner Park.
The male was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police found a weapon in the vicinity of the victim's body
The investigation remains active, ongoing and no arrests have been reported.
