Person Found Dead on NJ-495 in North Bergen

Authorities in Hudson County are investigating the cause and circumstances behind the death of a person found dead on a busy New Jersey roadway on Friday morning.

According to preliminary reports, police were called to NJ-495 at JFK Boulevard to investigate reports of an injured person at approximately 2:55 a.m.

Upon arrival, police found the severely injured person who was pronounced dead at the scene according to reports.

Police have not released the circumstances behind the death of the person, but it is believed that the victim was struck by a vehicle.

The incident caused heavy delays in the eastbound lanes of NJ-495 according to police.
