Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle that Sped Away from Scene in Cranford

Police in Cranford are on the search for the driver of a vehicle that struck a man in the city this evening then just kept going.

It happened just after 5:30 p.m near the Dunkin Donuts on South Avenue where emergency responders rushed to the scene after they received reports of an injured person.

Police and EMS arrived to find the seriously injured man lying on the ground at that location.

EMS rushed the unidentified man to University Hospital in Newark where doctors began treating his injuries.

Police closed off South Avenue from South Union Avenue to Washington Place for the accident investigation.

The driver of the vehicle remains at-large
