Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on NJ-37 in Toms River

Toms River Police are investigating a pedestrian strike that injured a person on a busy roadway Sunday evening. 

Police responded to reports of an injured person on NJ-37 near Hawser Place around 6:47 p.m. 

Upon arrival, emergency crews found the victim lying on the ground suffering severe injuries after a car struck them at that location. 

EMS units transported the injured to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment while authorities launched an investigation into the incident. 

Police are trying to determine if the car intentionally hit the victim.
