There were serious injuries reported for a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in Somerville late last night.
Emergency responders and rescue crews rushed to the 100 block of Somerset Street at around 9:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a person struck by a vehicle at that location.
Police and EMS arrived to find the severely injured victim laying on the ground according to reports.
Police closed the southbound lanes of Rt. 206 to prepare the victim for an airlift to the hospital but cancelled the plan. The victim was ultimately transported by EMS to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office was on the scene to assist in the investigation.
