Police in Lavallette are investigating a pedestrian strike that sent one person to the hospital suffering serious injuries.
The incident happened at around 12:45 a.m. in the area of Grand Central Avenue and Guyer Avenue when emergency responders were called to the scene for an injured person.
Arriving units located the victim suffering serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle at that location.
The victim was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center according to reports.
Police conducted a crash investigation at the scene to determine what caused the strike.
