Pedestrian Struck by NJ Transit Train in Newark


NJ Transit police are leading the investigation into a train strike that injured a male in Newark on Tuesday morning.

It happened at Penn Station around 2:30 a.m. 

Police say the pedestrian was struck by an NJ Transit train on Track 1 and suffered serious but non-fatal injuries. 

The unidentified victim was rushed to University Hospital for treatment while police stayed at the scene investigating the cause of the incident. 

Officials reported no injuries onboard the train.
