Monmouth County authorities are investigating a pedestrian strike that left one person dead in Wall Township last night.
The incident happened before 8 p.m. in the southbound lanes of NJ-35 near Warren Avenue where emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a pedestrian down suffering serious injuries.
EMS rushed the victim to Jersey Shore Trauma Center where they were pronounced dead later in the evening.
The crash had the southbound lanes of the highway temporarily closed for the investigation.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly stayed at the scene.
