A pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle late last night has authorities in Essex County investigating.
First responders rushed to the 600 block of Frelinghuysen Ave. at around 11:30 p.m. where they arrived to find the victim laying on the ground seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead a short time later while EMS evaluated the driver of the vehicle at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
Detectives from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office are investigating.
