Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Malboro Identified

Authorities have identified pedestrian who was struck and killed on Route 18 Monday morning.

Police responded to Route 18 near the County Road 520 overpass shortly after 4 a.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck.

on Marlboro police Capt. Fred Reck previously said.

Upon arrival police found Rodney Rhode, 68, of Mertztown, Pa.

It is still unclear what Rhode was doing on Route 18, said Charles Webster, a spokesman with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
