A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries after being struck by a vehicle on a street in Somerset County Wednesday evening.
It happened around 6:20 p.m. in the vicinity of South Middlebush and Vliet roads in Franklin Township.
According to police, emergency responders found the unidentified person lying in the roadway suffering severe injuries before transporting them to Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, where doctors made the pronouncement just before 7:30 p.m.
The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office has been notified of the fatal incident that remains under investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
